Boots ‘n’ All

Boots ‘n’ All is a co-designed film on mental health, community and drought created with farming women on Cowell, Eyre Peninsula. The film captures from the women’s perspectives what communities can do to care for each other during drought.

The film is a stop animation that uses simple drawings, pasted words, photos from Cowell and a narration to tell the story of how drought impacts the lives of farmers and rural communities. It provides messages for how communities can work together during drought and importantly in this day of technology to put the phone away and visit and check in on others. Importantly, Boots ‘n’ All reminds us that the financial and emotional experiences of drought are ‘not over when it first rains’ but that recovery takes time.
