Riverina Bluebell

Riverina Bluebell is based in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, and is a not-for-profit, volunteer, community organisation. The group raises awareness about mental health issues and, through encouraging locals to share stories, builds awareness of supports available for mental health.


SOS Yorkes

SOS Yorkes is a volunteer group based on the Yorke Peninsula, South Australia. The group aims to strengthen the mental health and wellbeing of rural community members through raising awareness of mental ill health and suicide and promoting wellbeing.


Mentally Fit EP

Mentally Fit EP, developed by volunteers, is based in Port Lincoln and extends its presence throughout the Eyre Peninsula, South Australia. Through local funding, they have developed a program of activities, workshops and resources. They aim to empower people to take charge of their lives by educating, reducing stigma and up-skilling community members.


Mellow in the Yellow

Mellow in the Yellow is a volunteer group based in Tatyoon, Victoria. They run an annual event to raise funds which go back into community programs to strengthen the mental health and wellbeing of farmers and farming communities. Mellow in the Yellow encourage conversations about mental ill health experiences, support and ways to activate wellbeing.

Are you Bogged Mate?

Are you bogged mate? was started by Mary O’Brien, a woman from a farming family in country Australia. With an emphasis on making the language appropriate, the initiative aims to raise awareness, reduce stigma, encourage help seeking, provide links to support options, and ultimately, start conversations about depression and rising suicide rates among country men.


Wesley Lifeforce Suicide Prevention Training

Wesley Lifeforce was established in 1995 in response to increasing suicide rates in Australia and currently provides suicide prevention programs nationally. Wesley Lifeforce offers telephone crisis support through Lifeline, resources for individuals and communities, training opportunities for community members and healthcare professionals, and postvention support to those who have lost a loved one by suicide. Wesley Lifeforce also has a Suicide Prevention Networks Program which offers support and resources for local community members to establish a suicide prevention network in their region.


National Centre for Farmer Mental Health

The National Centre for Farmer Health (NCFH) is based in the agricultural area of Hamilton, Victoria, and is a partnership between the Western District Health Service and Deakin University. Through their partnerships and community engagement, the NCFH aims to conduct applied research about health and wellbeing among farming populations, develop appropriate interventions, and provide education and services.


Royal Flying Doctor Service

The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) has been delivering aero-medical services and primary health care to rural and remote Australia since 1928. The RFDS also provides mental health services such as visits to mental health clinics, 24 hour telehealth services, visits to remote towns to deliver education about mental health issues, and emergency air transfer for individuals needing an acute service.
